Take Control of your Dream (Dylan O'Brien Inspired)

Do you ever had that feeling when you're having such a good dream, all grinning, warm and fuzzy, but then someone or something woke you up? And then you though, "Naaah, Imma go back to my dream" and pull the blanket over your face, curl in a fetal position, and hope to continue the dream but then you can't because the motion has passed? *exhales*

Well, I have loads of those. I mean, it's frustrating, especially when it is such a good dream. Like for example, dreaming that Dylan O'Brien is your boyfriend *I blame the recent movie I watched "The Internship" for making me drool over his cute pretty face*. But lately, I've been successful in controlling what shall appear in my dream.

Although the chances are really sometimes random that it'll happen the way that you want to, I've devised my own way to get the types of dream that I want.

1. No eating before sleeping. Especially spicy or any spice-induced foods.
A study performed by Brighton Town University's department of the mind and body, it shows that the subject (people) who go to bed on a full stomach can trigger nightmare-causing brain waves, especially when the food are the unhealthy ones. And eating spicy foods can cause a rise in your bodily temperature, in which disrupts REM sleep.

2. Take whatever you do before you go to sleep into consideration.
Whatever show you're watching, whatever books you're reading, or whatever music you're listening before you go to bed will influence in what will appear in your dream. Basically, everything you do will affect it. So, let's say you want to dream about this cute guy that saw in facebook, all you need to do is ; stalk his FB, look at photos, while listening to some music that can make you feel giddy or amorous, before you go to bed.

3. Music plays a big part.
Now this is a bit tricky because it depends on your personality. But naturally, all you need is some music that can evokes happy thoughts or memories. Some music that will light up your spirits and make you smile. Find those music, plug in earphones (earphones are way much better than speakers as it pierces through inside the ear, while sound have to travel quite a distance from the speaker to your eardrums), put it in volume that is not too loud that it will wake you, but not too low that it doesn't register through your brains, and go to bed. It'd be good if you can create a playlist instead and keep it playing on a loop.

I know, all of these thing are common and you've read it all before but have you actually given it a try? I've managed to keep Dylan O'Brien in my dream for quite a few time already since the premiere screening of 'The Internship' last Tuesday. And I don't plan to stop. Unless I feel like dreaming about Zac Efron... Hmmm....

Charlie Hunman & Dakota Johnson as Christian Grey & Anastasia Steele for the upcoming movie from the bestseller 'Fifty Shades Of Gray' by E L James

That is one motherfucking long title. Anyway, after all this bizz and buzz about who's going to play the cast of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele from the bestseller erotic book Fifty Shades of Gray, they have finally decided to cast Charlie Hunman and Dakota Johnson as the characters respectively.

Zac Efron in the upcoming movie, Neighbours

Don't you just want to melt and swoon at the sights of those beautifully sculpted abs? Oh I'm gushing so hard right now. Not with jizz of course! But with hormones. Estrogen, specifically. Hehehe. Anyhow, any fans of Efron would surely know about his upcoming movie which shall be released next summer. I think that would probably mean next year... right?

Aaron Taylor Johnson

You know what? A few days back when I was watching Kick Ass 2 at its premiere screening at GSC, Mid Valley Megamall, courtesy of Nuffnang (thanks a lot you guys!), I realized that Dave/Kick Ass looked very familiar. Now, let me be honest with you all here, I've never watched the first movie, so I wasn't prepared for all of his cuteness.

Maleficent : Motion Picture 2014

There's a certain allure to the Mistress of All Evil. Her regal demeanour, her elegantly fluid movements, her refined speech, and that surprisingly exotic beautiful face. Despite actually being a faerie, Maleficent is really one of the best villain characters that Disney had came up with and ultimately reached the first place in Ultimate Disney's Villain countdown. Creator of Maleficent, Mark Davis decided to dis the image of hags and witches in the making and opted for a more majestic, elegant yet sinister green-skinned beauty, a portmanteau of magnificent and malevolent.

New Games : Dragon's Dogma - Dark Arisen & The Art of Remember Me

I haven't been playing Axel for quite some time already. It was because my wireless controller was in a fix that the battery slot compartment was lose and every time I play it kept on coming off. It was frustrating. Another thing was that by using a wireless controller is costly. New batteries every single time the present ones burned out. So, recently I bought a wired port so that I can plug in my controller and used power from the console itself rather than solely relying on the batteries. And it worked well. I my controller was stabilized and there controller won't shut off every now and then. Too bad the wire is quite short though. Which means no more playing games while lying back on our mattresses from afar.

And if only I'd knew that this game outlet sells their disc for only RM8 each, I would have opted to buy my games here from now onward, rather than going back to Ampang at my usual shop at Pandan Kapital. But hey, I'm a regular customer at that shop and they've known me well enough. And they do have better far options actually. This Genius Game outlet, however doesn't have much of discs to select from. They only had two folders of it. But hey, cheap is cheap. Although intentionally, Faiz was the one who wanted to buy games there, as it turns out, I ended buying instead.

Burger Trip : Al-Lazat from Burger Bakar Abg Burn

Monday, 8th June. I was actually waiting for the new burger called Al-Lazat to make its debut at the Burger Bakar Abang Burn chain burger shack since the week before and I finally found out that they started selling it on that Monday (8th June) itself when I was busy checking out Facebook status updates when I saw the announcement. I didn't waste any time at all and quickly contacted Faiz to accompany me to go to Abg Burn's outlet in Danau Kota to taste this burger.

Therapeutic Tuesday : Sky High by Thomas Prime

Every one of us needed an escape. A world of endless possibilities, unlimited imagination, and infinite freedom. By channeling our stress and tension away into these escapades, we are able to flow with the melody, sway with the rhythm, and let go. Every one have their own way of escaping out of their distraught and fatigue. While some chooses to indulge in eating away their troubles, exhaling nicotine through their lungs, or going to spa for a lil bit of an R&R, I prefer the more pragmatic and salutary way of an escapade; music.

Our nerve system, react to music quite well. I don't know about scientifically proven or not (I'm a lil bit lazy to do research right now), but I am pretty sure all of you have experienced this moment before. That moment when the beat of the drums, the zing of the cymbal, the pluck of the guitar, the ping of the piano, the twinge of the violin, and the beautiful melodies created by instruments drowning away the 'screams' and 'shriek' of stress' astriction.

Don't find those heavy metal songs or those cheeky pop songs, those are good to cheer you up, but instrumental music are much of a better option to assuage the tension and stress you develop over times. Plug in your earphones, find some instrumental music (jazz, blues, keys, whatever your preferences are), close your eyes, and listen to the music as they take you away. As you all know, Yasunori Mitsuda is the one responsible for creating the hauntingly beautiful soundtracks for the game Chrono Cross. And the song for today was originally composed by Yasunori himself, titled Dreams of the Shore Near Another World.

Although the original title of the song is called Dreams of the Shore Near Another World, Thomas Prime, edited the soundtrack into a remix of the song, giving it a new name, Sky High. Hailing from London, England, Thomas Prime is a producer responsible for coming up with these powerful compilation of instrumental wonders, such as The Instrumental LP, Vol.2. He's known for his amazing work in Trip-Hop music (a fusion of hip-hop and electronica with the influences of soul, funk, and jazz). Check out more of his work here, give it a whirl, and hopefully his music can let you drift away and forget all the troubles you have been hurdling before.

Mr. Prime is the epitome of trip-hop; The Instrumental LP, Vol. 2 delves into a robust world of symphonic notes, other-worldly melodies and well-structured pieces to create a set of instrumentals for any fan of instrumental music, hip hop or not. - Source cited from here.

Burger King's Syiok BBQ Rodeo Burger

This would be my third entry in a row where I talk about burgers. Yes, burgers. I've been on a burger-tastic marathon lately. Well, it wasn't really much of a planned thing and it was more coincidental. Right from the Burgerbyte to the McDonald's Samurai Burger comeback entry, this would be the third. I could imagine myself becoming one of those fat loser who sits in a lounge chair, playing console games, lazing about wearing a clearly tent-like white T-shirt with burger stains all over it. Eeewww....

Burgerbyte @ Taman Dato Senu, Sentul

I never heard of this place before, even though I've been living in Bandar Baru Sentul for six months already. Apparently, Burgerbyte was just nearby and only five minutes away from my house or less. I was actually on my Facebook during that time when a friend of mine suggested that I try out Burgerbyte, in response to my updates saying that I was starving. At first I thought, maybe next time because I never knew it was close by.

Girl Meets Ape by Chris Manby

When the clock strikes 5pm, it's time for me to get out of my secluded corner office inside the library and patrol around the library and help around the library assistants with their task. However today, when I was around the fiction aisle, I came across this book title Girl Meets Ape by Chris Manby. Needless to say, the title and the cover induced me to pick it up and read it.

Needless to say, since I haven't been doing any book readings lately, I decided to pander in some comical romance of this novel. Reading materials such as these modern romance is one of my favoured escapades I do love to exercises my right hemisphere side of the brain by 'visualizing' the story as it unravels with the help of the author's conscientious writing. Happy reading, everyone.
