Sayonara, 2013! Irrasshaimasen, 2014!

It's "Bye-bye, 2013" and "Hello & Welcome, 2014" time. I bet all of you are dying to 'expect' what 2014 have in stores for you. But before we get on to the whole "I'm gonna do better this year!", "I'm gonna work harder!", "I'm going to study smarter!" and all of the other cliches, let's take time to reflect upon the year that have passed.

Claire Morgan: As you all can see the ball has stopped half way to its porch. It's suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the New Year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or close ourself down for fear of getting hurt. Cause that's what New Year's is all about, getting another chance. The chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about what if and start embracing what will be. So when that ball drops at midnight, and it will drop, let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight, but all year long. Thank you.
Despite this speech was made from a movie about celebrating New Year, aptly named 'New Year's Eve' and from a movie a few years back, it doesn't change a fact that it is such a beautiful speech. One that really have a good message, meaning, and could damn well bring me down with tears. Like seriously, sobbing.

And I know we all are eager to throw away that baggage from last year and get on with a new chapter in our life, a new year, a new beginning. Hell, even I am like so ready to forget it all. But we need to remember that our past is what makes us who we are now. I can say that for sure because if it weren't some of the incidences that happened during 2013, I might end up differently where I am today in the year 2014.

It might be something to do with your career, your love life, your family, and more. But there are only a few of those moments in life that can happen at a particular point of your life and that aforementioned point might have been in 2013. Say, a resolution to do/give up something, or perhaps a drive to pursue a dream, or even a desire to finally make a move on someone that you really like.

Well, before I started crapping out on other things that have a connection to destinies and fate, I better stop here. Because trust me, there's tons to talk about when it comes to those things. I, for one, are so interested and fascinated in the concept of destinies and fate. But for now, let's just all enjoy those midnight new year's kiss.
